Israel Palestine on Swedish TV 1958–1989 by Göran Hugo Olsson

Israel Palestine on Swedish TV 1958-1989 is the definitive cinematic account of the background to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through unique and immersive footage, for long buried in the vaults of the Swedish Television archives. Four years in the making, this film unfortunately has become heartbreakingly timely. From the director of The Black Power Mixtape 1967–1975 and Concerning Violence.

VENICE CLASSICS
Pusher & Beauty is Not a Sin by Nicolas Winding Refn

Nicolas Winding Refn's debut film 'Pusher' will be revived - now in 4K -  at the festival as part of the Venice Classics series, 28 years after its original release. The film, which has become a cult classic, features memorable performances by Mads Mikkelsen and Kim Bodnia, who both had their breakthroughs with this gritty tale of two drug dealers. Refn's unique style and ability to create intense and gripping scenes have made 'Pusher' an unforgettable film in Danish cinema history.

In addition to this celebration of 'Pusher,' Nicolas Winding Refn also presents the Italian-Danish short film 'Beauty is Not a Sin' at the festival, which will be shown out of competition.

For the first time in the Biennale’s 81 year old history, a commercial is on the official program made by the world-known danish director Nicolas Winding Refn (‘Drive’, ‘Copenhagen Cowboy’). An 8-minute short film for the italian motorcycle company MV Agusta.
